actually updated are usually to fix things
the lack of an update probably means they are spent the time trying to fix the eu mess instead of adding some other little touch.
as soon as eu problem is fixed hopefully we will get into the habit of NOT having a weekly update so when one happens it will be a special treat

There has been a minor update at least in the area outside the hot springs, There is now a monk boss there. Also there is a really good reason no weekly update, The new area will be released next week more then likely, maybe the week after, but still it is on its way!

If you are wondering if we will continue to have the Official Bugs Threads, now that the game is live, well, no, we won't. There is still a way to report bug, glitches and even exploits and cheats, and it's as close as www.guildwars.com. Simply click the Support button on the site, and submit a "ticket" through our Knowledge Base. The search engine will give you a few suggested responses, but if none of them fit, go ahead and "Ask a Question" and our Support Team will get the report right away and tend to it as soon as possible. We have people working round the clock to help out with problems, and of course we're always doing our best to answer your questions. Don't forget our Online Manual, www.guildwars.com/manual, and use the Knowledge Base for questions and reports.

nice thank you... I'm a bit depressed to know that my minor albeit worthy reports have all been for naught, but I feel good knowing that I can now make a productive effort to assist the team

After ANet did a great job by providing weekly updates, I think many people have come to expect it and act like "wtf, the service is declining" when they don't get it. Most likely the Devs are working hard on the new maps since that is one of their big priorities. Unfortunately, it seems like the Euro lag is probably hardware related, because if it's software then America and Korea would be having problems too since I assume the software is basically identical. So that takes to locate the problem and fix, the programmers at ANet can't simply change some code and fix it.

I'm not quite sure what people are expecting...do they want an update just for the sake of updating...if there's nothing to change/improve then why would they update the game? Is their something you wanted to see in the last two weeks and haven't? What are you hoping for? What are you expecting? We ALL KNOW(and if you don't you're a moron) that the expansion pack isn't coming out until mid August...so what are they supposed to be updating?

Hopefully a clue. Because some people are seriously lacking one I fully agree with Algren.

Just to confirm:

Thank you, that is exactly what I was going to say. If you've never seen someone with red dye usage, or a certain type of boots, or a weapon, you need to draw those assets. You get "predictive" downloads, but sometimes we cannot predict what you'll see, and we'll download at the next opportunity.
If anyone has seen a "white box" in the game, this is because your system does not have a specific art asset, and will often be amended right away by relogging into the area.
There are no "stealth updates" in a general sense. No "Close the game and relog" type updates, and the only incoming files you see other than the regular updates are things you need to play the game on an individual basis. Just as BrokenSymmetry stated.

No, yes, and yes. That is my advice. We truly do appreciate the problem and definitely are working on the issue. Saying "We appreciate your patience" seems weak, but it is sincere.

I for one have full faith in the dev team (despite what somebody may have read in my artfully composed goredengine post). However, I and my full guild have switched over to the US servers (as have many others) because of the flawed WaW system. I don't want to derail the thread (not that there's really a focus) but I wonder what priority level this merits to the dev team and what, if anything, they plan to do.

All I can say is that I am so happy that Anet responds to the boards. They're doing their best to make us happy, shouldn't we be happy for what we've got?
Im not on the Euro servers, but I can understand their pain, and I know that the team is doing all they can to fix it... So relax, grab some popcorn, and wait for it.

2 weeks no update -> Pissed off
1 week no update -> Pissed off
1 day no update -> Pissed off
1 hour after update -> Pissed off
1 day after update -> Pissed off
lowered drop rates -> Pissed off
upped drop rates -> Pissed off
I see a trend.

Many games dont have patches because they aren't broken at release.

We need to end this with a late firestorm. =]
The devs are workin' on it. So sit tight, if the european servers are down, head down to the American servers. Heck, even go to the Korean server. Or, *gasp* play another game!
Yes, Guild Wars is addicting. Addictions are usually bad, y'know? I know its futile to say "it'll come soon", because y'all want to play *now*...but...sit tight.
Oh, stumpy, i'll add a few

drake's lightning fixed so they're acutally lightning drakes --> pissed off
updated armor --> pissed off

As far as I know, no one ever said they'd make weekly game updates, and expecting it would be a bizzarrely unrealistic expectation. They spent years making the game. How much do you expect it to change in a week, while they are also making new levels, classes, races, etc.?
